A local nursery is ramping up its services to fit the needs of customers during the current COVID-19 pandemic which has left many citizens confined to their homes and others afraid to shop for food and necessities.
Effective today, March 23, Pleasant View Nursery & Florist is offering delivery service for many of their consumable products. You can receive things like ground chicken, sausage, eggs, milk, butter, cheese, spices, honey, jellies and jams, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, sauces, fresh-baked cookies, and breads without leaving the comfort— and safety— of home.
Outdoor items like plants, mulch, hanging baskets, perennials, annuals, and compost can also be delivered.
“When it warms up and the sun starts to shine again, it will be a great time to start getting your yard/garden ready for spring and summer,” says Candy Kizer, the nursery’s owner.
“You can also have bouquets of fresh flowers delivered to brighten up your home as you deal with the trials of isolation,” adds Kizer.
To meet social distancing requirements, customers can place their orders over the phone and pay via credit or debit ahead of time. This will eliminate any face-to-face contact and the exchange of money.
When the driver is ready to deliver an order, the customer will be notified via phone, and items will be left on the front porch or otherwise specified location. When the driver is back in the car, Kizer says, customers can then come to the door and retrieve their items.
While a delivery charge will apply, it will be based solely upon what is ordered.
To place a delivery order, call (615) 247-8527.
The nursery, considered an essential business during a time of mandatory isolation, is currently operating Monday through Saturday, 9AM- 5PM. They will be closed Sundays for restocking and sanitizing. It is located at 7070 Highway 41A in Pleasant View.
“We love our community and are here for those who need us in a time of crisis,” Kizer says.
