This year’s Tyler Guye Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to recent Sycamore High graduate Jarrett Edmondson .
Edmondson, a four-year War Eagle, was chosen for the $1,000 honor due to his athleticism, dedication, passion for the game of baseball, coachability, and for being a good teammate. He has plans to attend Jackson State Community College in the fall with aspirations of transferring to Austin Peay State University.
The Tyler Guye Memorial Scholarship was established by long-time coach, Kelly Greco, shortly after Guye, a 2008 Sycamore graduate, was tragically killed in a traffic accident two years ago.
Guye was a a friend to many, an Army veteran, a father, and a talented athlete who played both basketball and baseball for Sycamore.
