Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency recently received a $4,000 grant from The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. These funds will be used to support the HOPE program, a new MCCAA initiative to provide basic essentials such as personal hygiene and non-perishable items to unhoused individuals within the seven counties they serve. .
The Community Foundation grant provides MCCAA the opportunity to launch the HOPE initiative on a limited scale. However, it is the agency's wish to continue to provide this service. Donations of items such as travel-size personal hygiene products (toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, shave cream, etc.) are always welcome. Additionally, non-perishable food items (pop-top canned stews, cereal bars, snack pack tuna and chicken salad kits, crackers, peanut butter, etc.) are needed as well. If you would like to donate any of these items please call 615.742.1113 ext. 2035
“The work of our nonprofit partners has never been more important as we watch needs emerge and evolve in this community,” said Ellen Lehman, president of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. “The Community Foundation is honored to connect generosity with need through these annual grants and other avenues throughout the year, but we couldn’t have an impact without the array of quality nonprofits offering solutions to our community’s needs and vital services to our neighbors.”
The Community Foundation awards discretionary grants annually from its unrestricted and field-of-interest funds through an open application process to Middle Tennessee nonprofit organizations addressing community needs and benefiting the well-being of citizens through valuable programs and innovative services.
