On Saturday, November 12, 2022, nine middle school wrestling teams from the Mid-Cumberland Area Conference (MCAC) competed in the annual MCAC Duals competition hosted by Fairview Middle at Fairview High School with each team guaranteed three matches on the day. The teams in attendance were Charlotte Middle, Cheatham Middle, Fairview Middle, Greenbrier Middle, Harpeth Middle, Richview Middle, Rossview Middle, Springfield Middle, and Sycamore Middle.

Cheatham Middle lost to Springfield Middle in the first round by a score of 14-54; they also lost to Harpeth Middle in the consolation round by a score of 11 to 53, and again to Richview Middle in the last consolation round by a score of 18-54.

The Cheatham Middle coaches shared they knew going into the duals competition the team would not compete well given the number of unfilled weight classes on the team. Despite that disadvantage, the coaches knew the competition would be good experiences for their young team of wrestlers.

Sycamore Middle School received a bye in the first round as the number two seed in the tournament. Sycamore defeated Rossview Middle in the second round by a score 48-42 to head into the semi-finals; they then defeated Charlotte in the semi-final round with a score of 48-42, but then lost to Fairview Middle in the finals, 33-48. Sycamore's coach stated his team did everything they could under the circumstances, but come up a little short against Fairview on the day.

All the teams will continue to compete in their individual dual tournaments scheduled throughout the remainder of the season in preparation for the MCAC Individual Tournament scheduled for December 17, 2022, also at Fairview High School.
