James “Jimmy” Barnett, Sr., age 83, of Pleasant View, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020.
He was the son of the late Nathan and Edna Earl Barnett.
Survived by wife of 66 years, Faye Barnett; sons James (Tina) of Old Hickory, and Jason (Jennifer) of Chapmansboro; daughter, Julie Dowlen (Barry) of Kerrville, TX; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Barnett retired from the Tennessee Highway Department after 42 years of service. He was a Mason, and a member of Brewers Chapel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00PM on Tuesday, September 29th at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Pastor Penny Stratton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Brewers Chapel UMC Cemetery with Reed Barnett, Logan Barnett, Taylor Dowlen, Travis Dowlen, Wayne Shearon, and Kevin Shearon serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Pruitt, Phil Holt, Gilford Walker, and Ben Shearron.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Brewers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 4965 Thomasville Road, Chapmansboro, TN 37035.
