On Thursday, January 27, 2022, the Sycamore Lady Knights basketball team traveled to Thompson's Station Middle School to take on the Lady Thunder in the first round of the TMSAA Sectional Tournament.

Heading into the game, the Lady Knights were the number three seed, with the Lady Thunder being the top seed. Sycamore fell to the Thunder, 45-29, ending their post season.

"I am so proud of these young ladies- not only because of what they've accomplished on the basketball court, but more importantly for being role models in the classroom and community," says Lady Knights Head Coach Connie Weeks.

On January 24, the ladies from Pleasant View traveled to Westmoreland Middle School to face rival Cheatham Bearcats in the TMSAA Area 10 AA Tournament, and were defeated, 34-38. The following afternoon, they headed back to Westmoreland to play Knox Doss Middle. Their 28-20 win over the Lady Mustangs advanced them to the sectionals.

The Lady Knights finished their 2021-22 regular season with a 10-7 record, and went 2-5 in the post season.

Josie Mae Boyd, Belle Gwyn, Violet Geldner, Libby Reeder, Dailynn Dearfield, Aly Rae Greene, Jordan Roberts, and Emma Wayne are the team's 8th-graders.

"I look froward to continue to watching them develop and lead as they go into high school," Weeks says of her eight "middle school seniors."
